Mental Health Support & Wellness
At BALANCE, we provide resources, guidance, and professionals who understand the importance of self-care and mental wellness. Whether you are seeking information, coping strategies, or simply a safe space to share and connect with peers, we are here to help.
Our goal is to promote mental health and wellness for individuals with visual disabilities. Our professional counsellors, with lived experience, are here to provide compassionate care and support tailored to your needs.
BALANCE Mental Health Support and Wellness may help you by providing the following:
- Support group: Sharing Space Support Group explores various aspects of living with partial sight or blindness, delve into identity formation amidst visual challenges, assess support networks from friends and family, navigate the process of grief and letting go, manage overwhelming feelings of stress, and celebrate personal achievements.
- Mental Health Pop-Up sessions: We delve into specific topics such as self-care, grief and loss, and loneliness, in free pop up presentations throughout the year
- Stress Management and Resilience Workshop: This workshop builds on the next, covering topics such as understanding stress, mindfulness, reframing negative thoughts, assertiveness, and resilience
- Individualized Counselling: Provides mental health assessment, and personalized sessions to address client’s unique challenges and goals
Our mental health support services are entirely virtual, and now open to persons with visual disabilities residing in any part of the province, and will no longer be restricted to the Toronto area (as long as they can connect to the program).
