New: Pre-Employment Program!
A new training program designed to address the need to build capacity and accessibility around employment for those that are blind and partially sighted, both for individuals and for employment service providers.
Social Enterprise
In response to a growing demand from organizations in the city of Toronto and beyond, BALANCE has developed a social enterprise that includes a fully customizable awareness and sensitivity training package for those who engage with patients, clients, colleagues or members of the public who are blind or partially sighted. To book one of our expertly designed 3 hour training events, or to adapt something for your own employee needs, please contact Deborah Gold, Executive Director, d.gold@balancefba.org or 416-236-1796, ext. 222.
Cost for Services
Most services and programs at BALANCE are offered at no charge. The cost of these services and programs is funded by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, through the Toronto Central LHIN. From time to time, a group program (such as our Yoga program) will have a charge associated to help offset costs; for the most part, these costs are defrayed through donations, or in any way we can.
