Welcome to the 40th Anniversary Because of BALANCE Campaign!
Since 1984, BALANCE for Blind Adults has been making a difference in the lives of individuals with visual impairments, empowering them with the skills and support they need to thrive. This year marks our 40th anniversary, and we invite you to join us in celebrating with our biggest fundraising campaign yet!
What is the “Because of BALANCE” Campaign?
The Because of BALANCE Campaign is our signature fundraising event, and you don’t have to leave your home to participate! It is a fun and impactful way to share your story about how BALANCE has helped you and raise crucial funds to support our phenomenal group programs.
How Does It Work?
Starting October 15, you will have 40 days to tell your story and help us raise $40,000 to support our programs.
You can share your story with friends, colleagues, and family members—ask them to donate any amount to support BALANCE. The best part? We are here to help you every step of the way! You can count on us to:
- Assist with writing your story
- Help create emails or social media posts
- Guide you through making a short video or audio message (optional)
Why Participate?
Every dollar raised during this campaign helps BALANCE continue providing life-changing services, including:
- Assistive Technology Training
- Mental Health Support Groups
- Pre-Employment Programs
- Community Engagement Activities
- Recreation, Leisure, Fitness and Wellness Groups
Last year, we raised over $40,000, and this year we aim to do it again! With your support, we can continue making a lasting impact on the blind and visually impaired community for the next 40 years.
Fun and Prizes Along the Way!
In addition to making a difference, we always put the FUN in FUNdraising! Throughout the campaign, we will host super Zoom gatherings, where participants can connect, share experiences, and win exciting prizes.

- Tell your story by sharing how BALANCE has made a difference in your life.
- Spread the word by asking your friends, family, and colleagues to donate. Share your story via email, social media, or even a short video.
- Track your progress and see how much you have raised for the campaign.
- Join our Zoom events and have fun with other participants, all while supporting a great cause!
